We're Crowdfunding!

We’ve started our first ever CROWDFUNDING project.

With the state of arts funding, I’ve been thinking about if for a while.  I wasn’t sure if it was something we should do. It feels a bit odd asking people for money, but as we are offering rewards, I think it might be okay! I guess it's not so different to selling tickets.

Just to add to the pressure we’ve been entered into a competition this weekend. There’s a prize for the project that raises the highest percentage of their campaign budget from now till Monday, so if you do feel moved to help us out, it would be great if you could this weekend!

It’s for a NEW Literary pub and street production in Fleet Street, London. It's been on my mind for a long time.  I know you may be out of London, but your help will be permanently recorded, you can pledge just a tenner and you will help write your own little slice of literary history.

Brian in Birmingham, Sally and Mark in Stratford-upon-Avon, Kevin in New York and Michael in Chiswick have already said they will make a pledge. As with most things Maverick, we are all doing it for nothing but there are some expenses we need help with.

And don’t forget, if we don’t reach our target, you'll get your pledge back!

Nick Hennegan Hello. I'm Nick Hennegan and I started the London Literary Pub Crawl. Most of the blogs on here will be by me. I've always written but my first theatrical success was an adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Henry V' (www.HenryVPlay.com) I founded Maverick Theatre in 1994. (www.MaverickTheatreCompany.com) This pub crawl is really more a promenade theatre performance than a tour and I'm running it with a bunch of enthusiastic local actors and writers.
